Augmentation Mammaplasty (Breast Augmentation):

Breast augmentation enlarges a woman’s breasts and improves breast symmetry through the surgical placement of breast implants. In general, it is a cosmetic procedure performed to fulfill a personal desire for fuller breasts or to restore breast volume lost after weight reduction or pregnancy. Implants may sometimes be used for reconstructive purposes following mastectomy or injury (please see information regarding Breast Reconstruction below). Augmentation may be combined with a breast lift for the correction of sagging breasts.

FAT TRANSFER BREAST AUGMENTATION:

Dr. Holland's innovative approach to cosmetic enhancements extends to the realm of natural breast augmentation through fat transfer. This procedure, also known as autologous fat grafting for breast augmentation, involves utilizing liposuction to extract excess fat from various areas of the patient's body and then carefully injecting it into the breasts. Dr. Holland's expertise in this field combines precision, artistry, and a commitment to providing patients with a natural and harmonious outcome. This is an option for women who are looking for a small increase in breast size and would prefer natural results, opposed to an augmentation with implants.

Dr. Holland discusses the differences between augmentation using your own fat and an implant here.

Mastopexy (Breast Lift):

A breast lift, or mastopexy, is surgery to uplift and improve the shape of the female breast that sags or is pendulous but is proportionate with the body frame, has lost firmness and elasticity, has a flatter, elongated shape or has an unsupported nipple and areola.

“Breast lifts, unlike breast reductions or breast augmentations, can be a great option for women who struggle with flat or drooping-shaped breasts, downward pointed nipples, stretched out skin or unevenness. The ASPS breast lift Vlog takes you inside the OR with commentary from a board-certified plastic surgeon. Learn what the surgery entails, then check out the before and after gallery to see real results.” Watch Sarah W. Holland, MD on the ASPS Vlog here.

reduction Mammaplasty (Breast Reduction):

Breast reduction is a surgical procedure to reduce the size of large breasts that are disproportionate to a woman’s body and can cause physical pain. Technically called reduction mammaplasty, breast reduction improves breast size, shape and the associated conditions of large breasts that may include back, neck and shoulder pain or discomfort, restricted activity, skin irritation, sagging, stretched skin and/or an enlarged areola.

GYNECOMASTIA (MALE BREAST REDUCTION):

Gynecomastia, is a condition characterized by the overdevelopment or enlargement of breasts in men, which can manifest at any age. Gynecomastia surgery, also known as male breast reduction, is a transformative procedure performed by Dr. Holland to reduce breast size in men, ultimately flattening and enhancing the contours of the chest for a more masculine and aesthetically pleasing appearance.

NIPPLE RECONSTRUCTION:

Nipple reconstruction, where a new nipple is formed, can be completed following breast cancer surgery. Dr. Holland also performs nipple reconstruction for cosmetic purposes.

inverted nipple repair:

Inverted nipple repair is a surgical procedure aimed at correcting nipples that are turned inward. Through delicate techniques, Dr. Holland releases tissue constriction, allowing the nipple to project outward naturally. This not only improves appearance but also restores sensitivity and functionality. Recovery involves mild discomfort and swelling, but the results are aesthetically pleasing.

nipple reduction:

Nipple reduction surgery reshapes and resizes overly large or protruding nipples. Excess tissue is removed, creating a more balanced and aesthetically pleasing appearance. It's a quick in-office procedure with minimal downtime, resulting in improved nipple symmetry.

For years, I was uncomfortable with the way my clothes fit. I was self-conscious about the size of my breasts and felt everyone was looking at them, and not in a “good” way. I was not having any back or shoulder pain, so I knew my insurance company was not going to pay for a reduction. I finally made the decision to just do it for myself. I made an appointment with Dr. Holland. I liked her from the start. She took the time to explain the process and answered all my questions. I never felt rushed or like she needed to hurry to get to the next patient. She was very professional, kind and genuine and completely understood where I was coming from and what I was hoping for. I was confident I had chosen the right doctor to perform my reduction. The surgery went well. Several months later, I ended up with a hypertrophic scar. Dr. Holland had me come in right away to address the problem. I am thankful for the care I received from Dr. Holland. She made this a very positive experience for me. I only wish I had done it sooner! I would not hesitate to contact her again for anything in the future, and I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone.*
