skin cancer REMOVAL:
Much like any form of cancer, skin cancer, may require a surgical procedure to remove the cancerous growth. Receiving a diagnosis is very difficult to accept, along with understanding your cancer may result in scars or disfigurement. Dr. Holland understands these concerns and will guide you through treatment and explain to you the resulting effect on your health and appearance. She will also make every effort to treat your skin cancer with minimal changes to your appearance.
Moles, or nevi, are clusters of pigmented cells that appear as spots on the skin. They can vary greatly in size and color and typically appear on the face, arms, legs and torso. For skin moles that are harmless (benign), patients may opt to have them removed for cosmetic reasons.
Although a scar cannot be completely erased, scar revision can provide a more pleasing cosmetic result. Scars are visible signs that remain after a wound has healed and may be noticeable due to their size, shape or location. They can also be raised and differ in color or texture. Revision surgery attempts to minimize a scar so that it blends in with the surrounding skin tone and texture. Treatment options include topical treatments, minimally invasive procedures and surgical revision. Dr. Holland will determine which option is best for you.
