comprehensive consultation with dr. holland

During a comprehensive brachioplasty consultation, Dr. Holland evaluates the patient's medical history and aesthetic goals, discussing concerns about excess skin and fat in the upper arms. The surgical approach is determined based on skin laxity and fat distribution. Dr. Holland explains the procedure, including incision placement and anesthesia options, addressing any questions or concerns. Patients gain a clear understanding of the surgery and recovery process, empowering them to make informed decisions about their arm contouring.

what to expect

Throughout the brachioplasty journey, patients receive personalized care and support from Dr. Holland and our team. Surgery is performed under general anesthesia in an accredited surgical center. Following surgery, patients have follow-up appointments for monitoring and care. Recovery involves managing discomfort and swelling, with gradual improvement in arm contour over several weeks. Patients can expect guidance, communication, and support throughout, leading to enhanced confidence and satisfaction.

Things to consider before moving forward with Brachioplasty Surgery:

  • Maximum discomfort will occur the first few days after surgery and then will subside gradually.

  • Nausea can occur following any surgical procedure and generally passes by the first postoperative day.

  • Your arms will be wrapped with ace wraps for compression immediately after surgery.

  • You will be required to purchase a compression garment after surgery that is specific for your procedure.

  • You will need to wear this garment 4-6 weeks after surgery. This is determined by Dr. Holland.

  • There will be swelling and discoloration.

  • There may be numbness around the operative areas.

Please follow this list of medications and supplements to avoid prior to having your procedure.

A brachioplasty, or arm lift, is the surgical reduction of sagging excess skin and fat from the underside of your upper arms. The procedure will also tighten and smooth the underlying supportive tissue that defines the shape of the upper arm. Dr. Holland will determine if arm lift surgery may be right for you.
